GM AssetCentral Privacy Statement
GM AssetCentral is a business-to-business website operated by assetServ on behalf of GM. GM's AssetCentral Privacy Statement lets you know how we handle information you share with GM through this website. This privacy statement applies only to information submitted through this website to GM.
Business Information Collection
In order to become a user on GM AssetCentral, you must first submit an application containing business contact information of you the user, including:
Name (First, Last)
BUSINESS/ COMPANY or Dealership
COMPANY Type/ Business Role
BUSINESS Phone, Business Email
BUSINESS Address
BAC/ Site Code, if Dealer
GM Brands you Promote/ Sell/ Distribute
GM Brands to receive communications
GM Contact email, if applicable
Similarly, in order to fulfill orders placed through GM Asset Central, you will need to provide the following business information on each order placed:
All Business Contact info would be pre-populated from/ by GM Asset Central
Order Shipping Info (Business), which may or may not be the same as the Contact
o Ship To: Name (First, Last)
o Ship To: Business Address if different than for Business Contact
o BAC Code if requested by or for a dealer
Uses
Beyond providing you with the appropriate level of access to GM Asset Central, Business information collected about you or your use of GM Asset Central may also be used to respond to your requests for information, or to customize/ improve communication or site content.
We may share your Business Information with GM, our affiliates or our dealers to improve their support of the GM community. GM may also share your Business Information (such as name, business address, business email) with our suppliers for the exclusive purpose of providing services to/ for us. GM will NOT share your Business Information with other third parties for their independent use without your permission.
Use of your Business Information such as Shipping Address and BAC Code information is limited to the fulfillment of orders placed through GM AssetCentral. This information is not used for marketing purposes, and will not be shared with dealers, affiliates or with other groups within GM.
We may disclose your business contact information as required by law, in conjunction with a government inquiry, or in litigation or dispute resolution.
Cookies and Other Tracking Devices
When a user accesses GM AssetCentral, GM AssetCentral application captures, through cookies or other tracking devices, records and retains general data about the user's usage of GM AssetCentral, including without limitation, date and time of user visits; navigation activity and site registration information GM uses such information to determine the demographics of users and to develop and distribute to third parties statistics and general information about GM AssetCentral. Cookies must be enabled to be able to use this site. Please refer to your browser Help instructions to learn more about cookies and how to manage their use.
Information Security
GM recognizes the importance of safeguarding information in GM's possession from theft, inappropriate use, or improper distribution. It should, however, be recognized that no company can perfectly protect personal information. Information submitted on the GM Asset Central website is encrypted during transmission.
Updating Your Information and Privacy Inquiries
If you would like to correct or update your contact information, you may do so by navigating to Profile located on the far right of the GM Asset Central application toolbar. If you are connecting to GM Asset Central via Global Connect (US & Canada dealers) or Socrates (GM Employee), not all fields are editable;, to update them, you must request directly from Global Connect or People Finder.
